We Have Become the Branches of the True Vine

Let's Pray:

Lord, be one spirit with us, and speak in our speaking that we would see this organic union. Release the riches in Your word in a most definite way that all of us would be supplied!

Hymn: 482

Today's Verses and Footnotes: Rom 11:1-36

Key Verse:

Rom 11:17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them and became a fellow partaker of the root of fatness of the olive tree.

Filling the Blanks:

Grafting produces an organic ( ) (see note 51 in ch. 6). It is not the exchanging of a poor life for a better life. Rather, it is the uniting of two lives as one so that they may share one ( ) life and one living. Such a mingling of life takes place when two ( ) yet different lives pass through death ( ) and resurrection ( ). This depicts our union with Christ.
They and Israel have become the branches of Christ, the true ( ) (John 15:1, 5), and with Him the two have become the ( ) that expresses the Triune God. (See Rom 11:17 note 1, note2)
